Davide Van De Sfross

Davide Van De Sfroos, the stage name of Davide Bernasconi, is an Italian singer-songwriter, guitarist, and writer. The pseudonym Van De Sfroos phonetically translates in Lombard to the expression "vanno di frodo", "they go on the sly".
After debuting as a solo artist in the early nineties, he meets bassist Alessandro "Frode" Giana, with whom he forms the De Sfroos, a band that begins by creating some lyrics in fake English, Italian, and Lombard in its lake variant. This leads to the release of two studio albums, Ciulandàri! (1992) and Manicomi (1995), and a live album, Viif (1994). The group disbands in 1998.

Davide then founds the Van De Sfroos Band, an ideal continuation of the previously closed project. From there, his career continues with the release of 11 studio albums (1999 – Brèva e Tivàn; 1999 – Per una poma (EP); 2001 – ...e semm partii; 2005 – Akuaduulza; 2008 – Pica!; 2011 – Yanez; 2014 – Goga e Magoga; 2015 – Synfuniia; 2021 – Maader folk; 2023 – Manòglia; 2024 – Van De Best 1999 - 2015), 4 live albums (2003 – Laiv; 2009 – 40 pass cofanetto 4 CD live + 2 DVD; 2019 – Quanti Nocc; 2022 – Davide Van De Sfroos Live 2022) and 1 compilation (2011 – Best of 1999-2011).

Multiple winner of the Tenco Award, in 2011 he participated in the Sanremo Festival with the song "Yanez", placing fourth.
