Icy adventures in Valle dei Forni and Val Viola

Hike the glacier path

See the Forni and Dosdè Glaciers up close on dedicated hiking trails in the heart of the Stelvio National Park.

Two trails start from the Forni Refuge in the Valle dei Forni and lead to the foot of the glacier via the Branca Refuge along different routes. The lower route offers spectacular views of the Forni Glacier and the peaks of the Ortler Alps. The higher route crosses two Tibetan suspension bridges over the Frodolfo stream and you can also see the remains of World War One military posts. In Val Viola, passing Alpe Dosdè and the Federico Refuge, you can reach the foot of the Dosdè Est Glacier at 2,600 m above sea level.
