The Umbrail Pass (2,503 meters) connects the Upper Valtellina to the Val Müstair and the Engadine. From Bormio, it can be accessed from the IV Cantoniera of the Stelvio road, 4 km before the Stelvio Pass, and it is certainly one of the alpine passes most beloved by cyclists and motorcyclists.
Crossing the entire pass, you immediately enter Swiss territory towards S.ta Maria Müstair, where the Monastery of San Giovanni Müstair, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is located.
