The climb to Forte di Oga is an ascent that fascinates for its balance between cycling challenge, immersion in nature, and a deep connection with history. Starting from the Santa Lucia junction, at the gates of Bormio, you immediately enter a route that offers breathtaking views and true mountain sensations, leading to a symbol of the Great War.

The Route:

Leaving the main road of Valdisotto at the Santa Lucia junction, the climb begins decisively. The road, well paved, immediately climbs through woods, with a gradient that remains constant and rewarding, ideal for finding your rhythm. The route unfolds through a series of well-distributed hairpins, which allow you to gain altitude steadily and ease the effort, while offering increasingly wide views over the valley below.

The climb culminates at the foot of Forte di Oga, an imposing military fortress dating back to the First World War. The arrival is spectacular: the fortress rises majestically as a historic sentinel, offering not only a cultural point of interest but also a natural terrace with a 360-degree breathtaking view. Here, the effort of the climb dissolves into admiration for the landscape and the awareness of having conquered a summit rich in history.

Forte di Oga is a rewarding and accessible climb, perfect for those who want to test their legs in an alpine environment without facing the elevations of the "giants", but without giving up the thrill of the mountains and the beauty of the territory. Ideal for Road Bike due to its excellent paving, it becomes an exciting challenge also for E-Bikes, and a great alternative for Gravel in case of bad weather or for those who prefer a smoother surface.
