The Forni Valley has been shaped over the centuries by the glacier of the same name, the Forni Glacier. It is the largest valley glacier in Italy and also the second largest in absolute terms.
Curiosity
The name, seemingly contradictory, comes from the historical presence of furnaces for iron smelting, which have now disappeared.
