Autumn excursions 2026: The bellowing of the stag

Early autumn is the period of the stag rut. The males put on a display of bellowing; the clearings in the woods echo with their calls.
In this way, they try to threaten rival males and attract as many females as possible to their harem.
If the bellowing is not enough to intimidate the other males, this can also lead to a "clash": a sort of "arm-wrestling" match, antler against antler.
