The Alpine Botanical Garden Rezia was founded in 1982 and is now managed by the Stelvio National Park.
The Garden is located in Campello, north of the town of Bormio, on the slopes of Monte Reit.
It occupies an area of 14,400 sqm on land that was originally part of an old quarry, of which the Garden still partially retains the structure.
More than just a simple green space, it is an open-air museum, an immersive journey to discover the countless nuances of the plant world. Thanks to its privileged location, the structure presents itself to visitors as an enchanting flowering balcony, suspended over the valleys that overlook Bormio.
By visiting the Garden, you will discover the extraordinary alpine biodiversity, admiring both the ingenious adaptations to survive in mountainous environments and their intrinsic vulnerability. In a period of rapid environmental changes, Botanical Gardens are important places to record change, study it, and try to conserve the most at-risk species.
