On the exact day that, 38 years ago, Valtellina was struck by one of its gravest tragedies, “Acqua Violenta” takes the stage with a powerful and moving series of dramatic readings that recount the 1987 flood through words, emotions, and collective memory.
This is not a simple chronological reconstruction, but rather a narrative and emotional experience that weaves together:
- the words of Civil Protection Minister Giuseppe Zamberletti,
- stories and poems by local authors,
- first-hand testimonies from those who lived through those dramatic days.
The evening, presented in a semi-theatrical format, gives voice back to an entire community, delving into emotions, anecdotes, and deep meanings through the performance of actor Carlo Arrigoni and Mattia Cattaneo from the cultural association "Architetti delle Parole" of Costa Masnaga.
An opportunity to remember, reflect, and be moved together, nearly four decades after that fateful July 18, 1987.
