If at the weekend you want to relax and unwind, but also fancy some outdoor activities and a spot of culture, Bormio is the place for you. Here you can enjoy a combination of ski and spa, relaxing walks in the Stelvio National Park, fatbike excursions and much, much more!
Bormio is synonymous with wellbeing. The 9 thermal hot springs that flow from the heart of the mountainside make it the biggest thermal area in the Alps, and the ideal destination for a weekend of pure rest and recuperation. But while Bormio’s thermal spas are an essential stop on your mini-break, they’re just a part of what will make your weekend a thoroughly reinvigorating experience. Here wellness is all around you.
Ski and spa weekend: 3 ski areas, 3 thermal spas
It’s hard to think of a better combination than snow and hot thermal waters for a revitalising break.
Immagine skiing on world-class slopes like the Stelvio piste in Bormio or the Deborah Compagnoni piste in Santa Caterina Valfurva, and then on the very same day relaxing at one of the 3 superb thermal spas in Bormio, among the best in Europe. Sounds like the perfect day, doesn’t it?
Why not make it a reality? The 110km of ski slopes between Bormio, Santa Caterina Valfurva and Cima Piazzi San Colombano are not far from the three thermal spas Bormio Terme, QC Terme Bagni Vecchi and QC Terme Bagni Nuovi. We recommend skiing all day and rounding off the afternoon with a soak at the spa to enjoy the sunset and the restorative properties of the thermal waters.
Of course, your weekend on the snow doesn’t have to stop at skiing. For a short break with a difference you could also try cross country skiing and spa, or even ski touring and spa. Find out more! Click on the photos.

Snowshoeing and fat biking in the Stelvio National Park.
Not a skier? No problem! Luckily we are surrounded by one of the biggest nature reserves in Italy: The Stelvio National Park.
In the Stelvio National Park there are endless opportunities for outdoor activities in natural surroundings. But if we had to recommend a few to combine with a trip to the spa, we would have to go for snowshoeing and fat biking.
Snowshoe excursions are organised by the Bormio Alpine Guides and Ortler Cevedale Alpine Guides. Every week, both by day and night, our mountain experts accompany you on excursions to discover the most beautiful valleys in the park, and maybe spot some of their inhabitants.
Or why not give fat biking a go? Pedal along snowy trails on an e-bike with fat tyres designed especially for the snow. A team of expert mountain bike guides will accompany you in a different area of the park every day, and even at night!
Give it a go to the sleddog, and run a sled pulled by a pack of husky dogs in the wonderful panorama of the Stelvio National Park.

Take a wander through the past; a historic town centre and traditional produce.
Perhaps you would prefer a relaxing weekend exploring historic buildings, museums and shops selling handmade products?
After a trip to one of the thermal spas, take a relaxing stroll around Bormio’s medieval old town. Have a look around the shops selling handmade products and treat yourself to a bite to eat in one of the many places offering local produce. Pizzoccheri, sciatt, bresaola...how many local delicacies have you tried?
