Swinger or Poet

A piano that tells stories, evokes, and surprises: with Zwinger or Poet, Enrico De Carli invites the audience on a musical journey that blends architectural rigor with the poetic lightness of jazz. An eclectic musician, De Carli began very young with a jazz band exploring the repertoire of the 1920s and ’30s, later embracing a refined style rooted in bebop. He has released three albums – Fuggevole, We love Cole, and his most recent, which shares the title of tonight’s concert – and won the Europa Radio award for Best Composition with Blue Elda. His career includes prestigious appearances such as performing at the Teatro alla Scala’s chamber hall and participating in the only international conference entirely dedicated to Gershwin. Alongside music, he has ventured into writing with the musical comedy Tea for Two, two e-books on jazz, and the novel Vite svitate. Also recognized for his achievements beyond music, Enrico De Carli has been awarded both the Stella al Merito della Repubblica and Milan’s Ambrogino d’Oro. With this concert, Valdisotto welcomes an interpreter who turns every note into a story, balancing energy, reflection, and poetry.
