Park in Feast

From 20 to 24 August 2025, the Stelvio National Park will animate the town of Bormio with a series of activities that tell the story of life in the protected area and its inhabitants. This event will offer the community a new key to exploring the marvellous territory, rich in natural and cultural beauty, through experiences ranging from the lives of researchers, to their discoveries, through curiosities and anecdotes about the natural environment of these mountains.
All activities are free of charge except for scientific aperitifs. Admission is free except for some activities with limited places, for which registration is required


Wednesday, 20 August

  • 4.00 pm -  4.30 pm | Festival opening: 90 years of the Stelvio National Park
    On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the Stelvio National Park, the Park, in collaboration with the institutions of Alta Valtellina inaugurates the second edition of “Parco in Festa”.

  • 5.00 pm - 6.00 pm| Plants under the microscope of research
    In the company of Professor Nicoletta Cannone.
    We will explore how climate change affects the delicate plant world at high altitudes.

  • 5.00 pm - 6.00 pm | Interpreting nature: stories of change
    Reading the signs of nature to understand how climate change is altering the behaviour and habits of mountain animals.

  • 6.00 pm - 7.00 pm | Vipers and poisons
    Learn more about the Park's reptiles and how to behave if you encounter one. Discover the research that the Park is carrying out to study and protect these fascinating species.

  • 6.00 pm - 7.00 pm | Natural relationships, a short compendium of coexistence
    Fear, fascination, limits, beauty, necessity, risk, care and strength are the building blocks of the relationship between us and nature. The book “Natural Relationships” recounts small everyday episodes of coexistence to help us reflect on our intimate relationship with nature.

  • 6.00 pm - 8.00 pm | Botany to drink
    A sensory and gustatory experience to take a journey into our glasses from a botanical point of view.

  • 6.00 pm - 8.00 pm| From capture to monitoring in the Park
    How the Park studies deer, marmots and wolves through capture and monitoring activities. Different techniques allow us to collect valuable data on their lives, movements and population dynamics, in order to better understand the balance of mountain ecosystems.

  • 9.00 pm - 10.00 pm | Wild Lynxes
    After the great success of ‘The Snow Leopard’ and the excellent critical and public acclaim received by the recent ‘Dangerously Close’, Wanted returns with a great film that shows the wildest, most authentic and unspoilt nature, dealing with the theme of coexistence between humans and wild animals.
