BRIEF DESCRIPTION
Located in the hamlet of the same name, the Church of Saint Lucia is one of the oldest in the area, with origins dating back to the 12th century. The building features two naves: the older Romanesque one, facing the historic royal road of Valfin, and the Renaissance nave, added in the 15th–16th century.
Inside, it preserves valuable frescoes, including a 1524 work by Giovanni Andrea De Magistris depicting the Madonna with various Saints, and a 1545 fresco cycle by Vincenzo De Barberis illustrating episodes from the life of Saint Lucia and an Annunciation rich in doctrinal meaning, standing in contrast to the ideas of the Reformation. Also of great value is the 1611 altarpiece signed by Bartolomeo Roverio, known as “Il Genovesino.”
