The Sentiero dei Borghi is a loop trail that connects the five main villages of the Val Masino Valley: San Martino, Bagni di Masino, Filorera, Cataeggio and Cornolo. Created through the initiative of the Municipality of Val Masino and implemented with the collaboration of local associations, the trail enhances ancient settlements and historic paths, offering an immersive experience between nature and culture.
The trail, of hiking difficulty, covers about 11km and is completed in about 3h 40min (round trip). It winds through forests, meadows and small villages, with stops of interest such as the Bagni di Masino Hot Spring, the Valle del Ferro waterfall, and the large monolith of Sasso Remenno, a destination for climbers.
Various loops and detours are available to adjust length and difficulty, including a shorter San Martino-Bregolana-San Martino loop and a tourist-cycling route to Filorera.
An ideal itinerary for those seeking an accessible hike, rich in history, views and small treasures hidden among the valleys and villages of Val Masino.
