The Transalp Tour is much more than a classic multi-stage race open to all amateur cyclists. Participants will have to endure a total of seven stages and, overall, 650 km and 16,500 m of elevation gain. The event will start from Innsbruck (Austria), touching various Italian locations including the Valtellina cities of Bormio and Aprica, before finishing, after a week, in Riva del Garda in the Province of Trento.
Stage 3: Pfunds - Bormio
Stage of about 102 km with a total elevation gain of 2,818 meters and considered one of the most challenging stages of the Transalp Tour. The protagonist is the Stelvio Pass, which will be climbed from the South Tyrolean side before descending to Bormio.
Stage 4: Bormio - Aprica
Total km 90.70 with an elevation gain of 2,246 meters. The stage starts from Bormio, climbing towards the Motte, a two-time protagonist of the Giro d'Italia, heading towards the Mortirolo Pass and continuing towards the Guspessa Pass before arriving in Aprica.
