The Pian di Gembro location offers the opportunity to walk on an easy path with little elevation gain and, above all, to observe Aprica from above with the peaks of the Orobie Orientali, among which Mount Torena stands out.
At the Pian di Gembro Nature Reserve, leaving the car near the Ristoro Pian di Gembro, is the trailhead:the loop trail is enriched with panels highlighting the botanical, geological and historical features of this wetland and winds gently, in sections through fir woods, until it reaches an incredible vantage point over the Valtellina at the church of San Fortunato.
Normal snow hiking equipment (snowshoes, poles or possibly crampons) is recommended to tackle the trail.
