An easy snowshoe hike suitable for the whole family, even the youngest hikers, which, as it traverses the beautiful landscape of the Pian di Gembro Nature Reserve, offers enchanting snowy views of the Valtellina and the Adamello group.
Departing from the Ristoro Pian di Gembro, the trail crosses the wooden bridge and continues with a slight uphill slope within a dense forest of firs, pines and larches. As soon as you cross the ridge of the mountain that divides the town of Aprica from the Reserve, you reach the locality "Valcheola." Here, following the path on the right, you descend until you reach the small church of S. Fortunato, where the panorama leaves you speechless: a view from above of the entire mid-lower Valtellina framed by the imposing Rhaetian and Orobian Alps.
On clearer days it is even possible to admire the Monte Rosa group from afar.
For the return trip, the route runs along the road that runs along the peat bog, leading back to the starting point, passing by the Reserve's educational hall.
