"It is me, the Church of Sassello. I am 627 years old, and I feel I need you. My body is crumbling, my frescoes are fading. But I do not want to give up! I need help to reconstitute myself.
They dedicated a song to me last year, one passage of which says: “al pret in gesa al canta più” (the priest no longer sings in church). Well, that's just how it is: my voice is fading. But if we can't sing inside, let's sing in the open air, under the sky of our valleys!
I thought of making a Canzoniere (Songbook), a bridge to unite us all. Music has the power to make us feel part of something bigger, to rekindle the spirit of community that distinguishes us".
‘The Church of Sassello tells its story: a Canzoniere to make it sing again!’ is a musical project consisting of four unmissable evenings to give the Church of Sassello a new voice and support our community. Each event will be an opportunity to listen to live music, discover the new Canzoniere (a collection of traditional songs and music) and contribute to an important project!
