Questa tappa di media lunghezza e notevole dislivello conduce il Sentiero Italia sul versante settentrionale del Monte Disgrazia effettuando un lungo percorso ad arco che si affaccia sulla Valmalenco. Lasciato il Rifugio Bosio Galli si raggiunge l’Alpe Airale e si procede sostanzialmente in piano fino all’Alpe Mastabbia. Da qui una discesa graduale conduce alle frazioni a monte di Chiesa Valmalenco prima di iniziare la salita lunga e di notevole dislivello che porta al Passo Ventina a 2676 metri sul livello del mare. Rimane una discesa ripida e piuttosto lunga che raggiunge il torrente Ventina, poi l’omonimo rifugio e a breve distanza il Rifugio Gerli Porro.
