High Glaciological Trail excursion: Forni Glacier; in the presence of the ice giant
The High Glaciological Trail represents an itinerary of great environmental, panoramic and cultural value. The excursion starts at Rifugio dei Forni (2180 m) and unravels in spectacular views over the Forni Glacier and the summits of the 13 peaks. The itinerary lets us observe from up close the effects of climate change on the glacial environment and includes the crossing of two rope bridges, offering unique emotions and perspectives related to the alpine landscape. We will make a stop in front of the Glacier (2500 m), to then reach the Lago delle Rosole and the Rifugio Branca. We will head back passing through the Malga dei Forni (2320 m). A must-take chance for mountain, nature photography and local history enthusiasts. In occasion of the international year of the glaciers, this trail helps us remember their importance and how fundamental it is to preserve them.
