Excursion to Mount Scorluzzo – retracing the White War
This evocative excursion on Mount Scorluzzo (3.095m) follows an itinerary steeped in history and beauty. The route will pass by the military village of Filon del Mot and Rese Basse, areas marked by the 1° World War where trenches, military post, and remains of the Austro-Hungarian and Italian front lines can still be seen today.
Along the way, the gaze opens onto the majestic Stelvio Pass Road, which is celebrating its bicentenary this year. Opened in 1825 to connect the Austrian Empire with Lombardy, the road is a unique piece of engineering, a symbol of connection and defiance of the mountain.
The excursion then combines nature, memory, and human ingenuity, offering an intense experience between the silences of the high altitude and the indelible traces of history.
