Il sentiero sale subito appena lasciata la piazzetta del paese sul lato destro dell'ufficio informazioni. Il tracciato ripercorre una vecchia mulattiera usata dagli alpini durante la prima guerra mondiale '15'18. In poco tempo ci si trova ad osservare dall'alto il centro di Santa Caterina. Dopo aver superato loc. Speluga, all'incrocio, si prosegue verso destra raggiungendo loc. Linanza e loc. Ceisa. Superare l'incrocio e continuare verso sinistra. In progressiva salita, si raggiungono loc. Bacero, Monich ed Ables basso. Con un ultimo strappo in salita, si giunge in loc. Ables. Bellissimo colpo d'occhio sulla ski area di Santa Caterina e sul gruppo montuoso del Sobretta e Cevedale.
