Become King or Queen of the Mountains

With its famed Alpine passes and challenging climbs, cycling in Bormio entails punishing gradients and dizzying elevation gain, like the Stelvio, Gavia and Mortirolo Passes. Each one has featured as the Cima Coppi in more than a few editions of the Giro.

From Bormio, take on the Stelvio, Gavia and Mortirolo Passes, then rack up some extra mileage with seven more climbs to some of the most beautiful spots in Alta Valtellina.

Take advantage of days when the roads to the passes are closed to traffic, initiatives like Stelvio Epic Rides or events like the Granfondo Stelvio Santini, and pedal in the wake of cycling greats.

With such a variety of routes to suit you, your family and friends, why not plan a cycling holiday to explore the entire area at your own pace? Check the Bormio webcam and visit when the mountain passes are open.
