Da Arnoga in prossimita' del posteggio basso si entra in val Viola seguendo la vecchia mulattiera che entra pianeggiante fino a superare le Baite di Campo. Si continua ancora fino ad incontrare la deviazione per la val Verva scendendo cosi' al fiume Viola. Passato il ponte, dopo un breve saliscendi, si riprende a salire arrivando in prossimita' delle baite di Verva Bassa. Lasciata la val Verva si sale verso destra alle baite di Verva Alta e si continua nel bosco seguendo l'ampia dorsale che va gradualmente a perdere pendenza nella parte alta. Usciti dalla zona boschiva, si continua superando una serie di dossi e vallette arrivando alla al termine della dorsale.
