| YOUR HOLIDAY STARTS FROM HERE

“In Bormio, there is never a shortage of snow.”

While at first, this might seem like a slogan, it really is true.

The perpetual snows at Stelvio Pass

The slopes above the Stelvio Pass always have snow—it’s a glacier, so in summer there’s plenty of snow for skiing and snowboarding on the slopes that lie at the foot of the 3465 meter Punta degli spiriti (peak of the spirits). The entire Stelvio Pass resort area provides excellent quality of service, so it’s possible to spend a wonderful holiday dedicated to winter sports, even in the middle of August.

Ski and snow in Bormio

In winter, when the snow level descends to lower elevations, Bormio and the surrounding areas offer 71 miles (115 km) of perfectly snow covered slopes, with 5862 feet (1787 meters) of lift served vertical, from a high point of 9881 feet (3012 meters) at the top of Cima Bianca to 4019 feet (1225 meters) at the ski stadium of Bormio. Bormio is a resort of very high standards, with a modern snowpark, ski school, and slopes perfectly equipped for younger children or for those who just taking up skiing or snowboarding.

Snow and a lot of fun

But the snow in Bormio is not only for skiing. Those who like to do walks in the snow can choose among an infinite variety of hikes that can be enjoyed on foot or with snowshoes, and which weave through the conifer woods or the broad flat valley in front of Bormio’s ski slopes. Cross country skiers can train on perfectly prepared trails, which are ideal for lovers of both the classical and skating techniques. You can also practice freeride in dedicated areas of Bormio’s mountain resort. Lovers of the “free heel” style of skiing will find plenty of snow, both in bounds and out of bounds, to enjoy back-country and telemark skiing.
