Find out the rules to access to “Forni” road.

From 6 March 2019 it’s possible to access to “Forni” road, the way that connects you from S.Caterina to Forni area, where can you take several excursions.

The access to Forni road is permitted only with a valid transit ticket pass and with snow tires and chains on board (up to 30/05/2019).

Forni road: where can you buy tickets?

At the end of “La Fonte” parking in S. Caterina there is an info-point with a 24 h ticket automatic dispenser where can you take the ticket.

We inform you that you need to buy a valid ticket before reaching Lusseda area (S.Caterina – Via Forni).

In case of  the automatic dispenser is out of order or you wish to prolong the duration of your ticket, it is possible to buy the ticket at Stella Alpina Hut or Forni Hut.

  • If you want to buy ticket at the dispencer we suggest you to bring some coins because the dispenser doesn’t get the rest back.
  • At the dispencer it is possible to pay with debit and credit cards in contactless mode (without commision).
  • Once you bought the ticket, it must be exhibited inside the vehicle in a visible manner and it must be valid.

Forni tickets are purchased at the automatic dispenser or in the following affiliated points of sale:

  • Bar Mexico 86 in Piazza Frodaglio (Fondaglio square) – San Nicolò Valfurva
  • Ufficio Turistico in Piazza Magliavaca (Magliavaca square) – S. Caterina
  • Bar/Ristorante La Fonte in Via Forni (Forni street) – S. Caterina

Ticket rates Forni road

Spring rates 2019:

  • 1 day – 24 hours – €5,00
  • 2 days – 48 hours – €8,00
  • 1 week – 168 hours – €15,00
  • 1 month – 30 days – €30.00
  • Yearly – end of the year – €50.00

Campers, buses and trucks can not transit on Forni road.

Fines for irregular circulation on Forni road


  • No ticket displayed €25,00
  • Transit without ticket € 100,00

Vehicles exonerated

Are always exonerated to buy ticket:

  • Authorized vehicles for disabled persons;
  • Agricultural vehicles;
  • Bicycles;
  • Vehicles belonging to First Aid, Alpine Rescue, Police and Public Administration;
  • Vehicles of Public Service companies
