| YOUR HOLIDAY STARTS FROM HERE
The Ice Rink in Bormio is indoor, is open nine months a year, from July to March, and is the ideal place to try out some skates for the first time.
The structure includes a refrigerated international size ice rink approved by FISG, skate rental shop, four changing rooms with showers, and a break room, where you can rest and refresh yourself before going back onto the ice. In the evenings, the ice becomes a dance floor with lights and dance music.
Bormio, the cradle of the italian short track
The Palaghiaccio (Ice Rink) of Bormio is often the site for important national and international contests of short track.
We can say that Bormio has been the birthplace of this discipline in Italy; in fact, several of the great Italian short track champions first skated here in Bormio, thanks to the work of the Bormio ice Society. Among the most recent champions is Arianna Fontana, ayoung athlete and multiple medal winner at the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi. Not only do the Italian national teams train in Bormio, but there are also many international teams that come here to prepare for the season.
In addition to short track, during the summer season, teams of figure skating and hockey alsochoose the Bormio ice rink to prepare for the winter season.
