La Bekaria – Tradition, Flavor and Togetherness
Two days of celebration, folklore, and authentic flavors: in Isolaccia, the Bekaria returns. The event that revives the ancient tradition of pork processing, passionately organized by the Gioventù Isolaccia youth group.
Once upon a time, the “bekaria” was a cornerstone of rural life: a chance for families to gather, work together, and share the fruits of their labor, transforming pork into sausages and delicacies that would last through the winter. Today, this tradition comes back to life as a festival, with live demonstrations, tastings of local dishes, music, entertainment, and the genuine atmosphere of the past.
The Bekaria is not just about food: it is folk culture, collective memory, and a true journey back in time, rediscovering the authenticity and convivial spirit of a custom that shaped the history of our valley.
An event that unites generations and fascinates both those who wish to relive childhood memories and those eager to discover local traditions up close.
