You will soon realise that there is a huge number of routes available, all clearly signed. But how do you know which route is easier for your children, or how do you choose between a gentle hike and one that will take you to high mountain summits?

All of this information can be found online on the new Valtellina Outdoor website and app, available for Android and Apple devices.
Valtellina Outdoor is much more than just a map of all the trails. Available in Italian, English and German, it offers a fantastic insight into the limitless opportunities for outdoor activities in the Valtellina. At any time of year.
And, what’s more, it is interactive! You can plan your route or check out one you have just done, taking a look at its statistics: profile, metres of ascent, duration, maximum and minimum altitudes.
What does the app contain?
First and foremost, outdoor routes across the whole of the Valtellina! There are more than ... of them and on the app or website you can easily filter them by difficulty, type (walking, running, cycling, climbing) and by season. Because in winter, when the landscape is transformed by a thick blanket of snow, the routes also change.
There are also route descriptions. All routes, whether for cyclists or hikers, are described in detail. In addition to the technical details, each route features pictures, a difficulty rating and a score for the views and cultural features, as well as a section focusing on the points of particular interest along the route that are not to be missed.
On the web version of Valtellina Outdoor, you can also see 3D views of the routes and, where available, see sections in Streetview.
Meanwhile, on the app, there are downloadable maps. Using the app on your smartphone allows you to read the maps in high definition and check your position in relation to the route at any time, even if you do not have an internet connection. Just download the route before setting off.
