A dip in the past

Thanks to a rich historic-ethnographic heritage, the Museum Vallivo Valfurva “Mario Testorelli” documents the history, culture, farming traditions, and craftsmanship through an exhibition that recreates the environments of a past time.

Between domestic environments and ancient crafts

Take a trip through ancient domestic environments, such as the bedroom and kitchen, and through the workshops of long ago, such as that of the carpenter, the shoemaker, the blacksmith, and the funaio (rope or cable maker). Not forgetting all those activities historically performed by housewives, such as weaving, or those agricultural and pastoral, such as the milking. Of particular interest is the mill for grinding of rye, with its big wheel that still functions and tools related to the cultivation of this grain, and the wood-fired oven, rebuilt according to the traditional structure. In this section, and exposed everything you need for the preparation and the cooking of bread. Special sections are also dedicated to clothing, school, transportation, and to the sacred art.

On the trails of the Great War: soldiers skiers exhibition

A special section is dedicated to the war relics from the First World War, with particular reference to the battles undertaken near Mount S. Matteo by Captain Arnaldo Berni. Finally, there is a section dedicated to skiing in past eras, with particular attention to the soldier skiers, who were trained in special schools and committed only on the front lines of Ortles-Cevedale, Adamello, and Marmolada.
