Bormio – Campolungo – S. Antonio – Reit – Bormio
This route starts at the Pentagono of Bormio and after passing through the center of town, it continues in the direction of Bormio 2000, climbing on paved road and passing through the village of Piatta, Valdisotto. After a 2.17 mile (3.5 km) climb, take the forest service road (unpaved) toward Campolungo, which is characterized by continuous ups and downs in the woods, then becomes much more demanding up to Calvarana.
From Calvarana, a quick descent leads to S.Antonio Valfurva, from where you take the Genolecia bike path to the center of S. Nicolò. Near the church you cross the main road and, following the red arrow signs for the Granfondo Alta Valtellina (GF AV), you reach the village of Teregua.
Proceeding on the military road of the Ables you climb until the turn for the valle d’Uzza, where one enters a section of spectacular single track in the pine woods of the Stelvio National Park. Continue traversing the area of the Reit, through various ups and downs, until you reach the Baitin del Mago; from this point turn left and descend until you arrive in the Piazza del Kuerc, at the cener of Bormio.
The path is very picturesque and scenic, with varied terrain and stretches of forest service road, mule tracks, and single-track. Good technical ability and physical condition are required.
