A holiday surrounded by nature for the small cyclists

In Bormio and the Alta Valtellina the cycling opportunities have something for everyone: from adults, with both road biking and mountain biking, to children who might be taking their first rides, learning the rules of roads and trails, or just having fun.

Bike and Skill Center

There are several Bike and Skill Centers created for improving cycling for kids aged 4 to 14. These Bike and Skill Centers are open during the summer season, from June to September, and can be found at the Ski Stadium in Bormio, at Isolaccia in Valdidentro, at S.Lucia, Oga,  and Le Motte in Valdisotto, and at S. Caterina Valfurva.

These skill centers, designed ad hoc for the small and adventurous younger cyclist, are so named because they are equipped with small wood buildings and obstacles, useful to familiarize one with the bicycle and to learn to ride safely and autonomously—all under the attentive and expert care of the competent and patient instructors.

Cycling for Kids bike tours, getting in touch with nature

The Bike and Skill Centers, however, are designed not only to teach kids how to ride, but also to bring them closer to nature, and with full respect for it. Organized cycle hiking tours serve this purpose, giving kids a chance to ride their bikes and discover the flora and fauna of the Stelvio National Park. In addition, on these cycle hiking tours the kids will learn to orient themselves, to follow the rules of the road for cycling, and, at the end of the day, they will be able to name the peaks of the mountains that surround Bormio.
