Bike Transalp: Reschensee - Bormio (Stage 4)

The 2024 edition will be held from 14 to 20 July. Participants will have to cover a total of seven stages and a total of 520 km and 17,200 m of altitude difference. The event will start from Ehrwald (Tyrol, Austria), touching on various locations in Italy: Bormio, Valdidentro (Cancano Lakes), S. Caterina with passage through the Gavia Pass, Malè, Valle del Chiese to finish, after a week, in Arco in the Province of Trento.

Stage 1: Ehrwald - Imst (14 July)

Stage 3: Nauders - Reschensee (16 July)

Stage 4: Reschensee, Reschen Lake - Bormio (17 July)

Total km 90.38 | difference in altitude 2611 m | difficulty 5/5

The stage starts from the church tower in Graun via Santa Maria Monastero (Switzerland) to the highest point, Döss Radond (2,200 m). From here, we enter Italy via the Val Mora and then reach Lake San Giacomo, the famous Torri di Fraele and finally arrive in Bormio via Oga, Le Motte.

Stage 5: Bormio - Malè (18 July)

Total km 96.20 | difference in altitude 3254 m | difficulty 5/5

Departing from Bormio, the route passes S. Caterina Valfurva from where it is immediately uphill to reach the highest point of this stage, the Gavia Pass (2,621 m). From here, it is downhill to Sant'Appolonia and then back up the Alta Via Camuna to Passo Tonale in a nosedive to Malè.

Stage 6: Malè - Valle del Chiese (19th July)
