The Palio delle Contrade, another tradition of Bormo, arises from the (healthy) opposition between the Reparti of Bormio, the districts of the town distinguished by a particular color and symbol.
During the Palio delle Contrade, each Reparto seeks to recruit as many people as possible, requiring a strong spirit of participation. Each participant, to earn more points, is invited to wear period clothing, garments in the colors of their faction, and to use ancient wooden skis.
The program includes ski competitions, divided by category, those of the Bocia (children) and those of the Granc (adults), as well as a relay race for each district.
Program:
Thursday, January 30
- 5:30 PM | Meeting at Ski Stadium
- 6:00 PM | Start of the downhill race for the "bocia"
- 7:30 PM | Start of the downhill race for the "granc"
Bus transport service for athletes from Ski Stadium to the start
Throughout the evening at Ski Stadium:
- Hot tea, hot chocolate, bombardino, and manzole (included for participants - donation welcome for outsiders)
Saturday, February 1
- 5:00 PM | Meeting at Piazza V Alpini
- 5:30 PM | Start of the cross-country race for the "bocia"
- 7:45 PM | Start of the cross-country race for the "granc"
- to follow | Relay race of the Reparti

- All Bormio residents born and/or former residents can participate for their preferred Reparto
